When can students start applying for colleges for the 2011-2012 year?

This fall! Students all around the country should start applying to college around September-November. Depending on when the college posts the application up.
Oh and why do it so early? Because colleges have rolling admissions. Which means they start to accept/reject people as soon as they start receiving applications.
Not all schools are like this. Some schools don’t send their letters until a specific date which can be as late as February.
And yes, you can apply to a school as late as January and maybe April. I’ve seen students still get letters even when they apply that late. Is it a smart move in my opinion? Absolutely not.
