STUDENT LOANS FOR PEOPLE WITH BAD CREDIT
It may seem like an established fact that if you have outstanding credit and you have not been able to pay them or have defaulted on quite a number of them, that you may not ever be eligible for a student loan unless you repair your credit first. This may seem true – after all, what lender would knowingly give out money, knowing that it could be defaulted or that it may not be refinanced. However, it is still possible to get student loans for people with bad credit.
One of the more common suggestions for getting student loans for people with bad credit would be to get a co-signor or a co-borrower who can act as a guarantor for your debt. It would be even better if the plan that you get can also include a provision that will release the co-signor, allowing you to take full responsibility for the debt later on.
Another possible option for getting student loans for people with bad credit is to apply for the Federal Perkins or Stafford loans. The Stafford loans is said to be the most widely disbursed student loan and bad credits may not affect the application as much while the Perkins loan is a low-interest loan for both graduates and undergraduates.
One other thing that you can try is to go to a private institution or bank and outline what your situation is. Chances are they may still lend you the money but your loan will have a higher interest rate. They may also require a co-signor in this case.
